Following the feature in Texas Vacations magazine, the local newspaper, the Standard Times, did a short piece on Chef Jason Helfer and the Peasant Village Restaurant. In June of 2005, the Peasant Village Restaurant was featured in the “Texas Vacations” special edition magazine published by Southern Living as one of Texas’s top 12 restaurants. The article begins with a short background of executive chef Jason Helfer and how he came to open a restaurant with his father in a 1927 bungalow near downtown San Angelo. Download the article
